Sheherezad Shashaani is a Jungian oriented psychotherapist in private practice in Ventura and Los Angeles.  She received her BA in Human Development with emphasis in Child Development and Family Life from Purdue University, and BA in Music from University of California Irvine. She earned her Masters in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute.

Years of volunteer internship at non-profit clinics put her in touch with people from different walks of life, ethnicity, and socio economic status, which brought her face to face with wide variety of cultural, emotional and psychological issues.  Her areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, personal awareness and growth, relationships, communication, self-esteem, anxiety disorders, dual diagnosis disorders, depression, adolescent rebellion, parenting, midlife crises, major life transitions, and vocation. Her interest and involvement in art and music has made it possible to help bridge the gap for those who find this an inseparable part of their life journey and psychological well being. Her overall goal in therapy is to help create a meeting place within the individual where one could feel a sense of harmony between life’s stressful conditions –whatever they may be- and inner sense of fulfillment.

Sheherezad has a special ability to relate to her clients on a personal level, with an understanding of how difficult life’s issues can be for each and every one of us. Her ability to understand the mental and physiological issues behind our weight, eating, appearance, and general self-esteem has brought a deeper understanding, relief from unbearable pain, and a better life to her clients.
